The Administrative Appeals Board ("AAB") hears and determines appeals lodged against PCPD's decisions on complaints. AAB may confirm, vary or reverse PCPD's decisions. It has given PCPD its permission to publish on PCPD website its decisions delivered after open hearings. The general practice of PCPD is to upload AAB's decisions on an "as is" basis. Decisions delivered by AAB after private hearings are not published.
The purpose of publishing AAB's decisions on PCPD website is primarily to promote awareness and understanding of, and compliance with, the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance ("Ordinance"). Use of any personal data contained in AAB's decisions for any other purpose may constitute a breach of the Ordinance.
