Seminar on “Protecting Personal Data to Prevent Fraud”
Scammers often commit fraud by swindling or embezzling your personal data, such as name, identity card number, phone number, email address, credit card number and security code, etc. Therefore, you must always be vigilant, especially when using smartphones and social media, to prevent scammers from obtaining your personal data.
Against this background, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) organises this seminar, in which the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data Ms Ada CHUNG will provide practical tips to protect your personal data when you use smartphones, instant messaging application and social media. Mr Andy LAU, Senior Inspector of the Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC) of the Commercial Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force, will also discuss the latest trends of scams, using real cases as examples.
