Seminar on “Preventing and Handling Data Breach Incidents and Enhancing Data
Security Measures for the Education Sector”

Webinar on “Preventing and Handling of Students’ Misbehaviour involving Cyberbullying and Doxxing”

In the digital age, many schools are using information technology to enhance efficiency in teaching and management. However, as schools hold a huge amount of personal data of students, parents and staff members, if there is a lack of adequate and effective data security measures, their information systems may be vulnerable to hacking attacks, leading to data breaches.

With a view to assisting schools to address data security risks and data breach incidents, as well as raising the awareness of staff to data security, Mr Brad KWOK, Chief Personal Data Officer (Compliance and Enquiries) of the PCPD, will share lessons learnt from data breach cases related to schools during this seminar, and elaborate on the causes of the data breaches and the remedial measures taken. He will also provide recommendations on how to enhance data security measures, as well as highlight the key points in preventing and handling data breach incidents. In addition, guest speakers from the Hong Kong Association for Computer Education (HKACE) will share the best practices for handling personal data at schools.

Principals and teachers from primary and secondary schools are welcome to attend. The event is supported by the Education Bureau (EDB). Attendees will receive 1.5 CPD hours from the EDB.

Enrolment is on a first-come-first-served basis. Please click the link below to register for the event via the EDB Training Calendar System:
