- Participating organisation must be a data user controlling personal data in or from Hong Kong under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
- Each organisation/company can submit one application only.
- Late applications will not be accepted.
- The Organiser is not liable for any infringement of others' copyright, trademark or other legal rights involved with any documents or information submitted by the participating organisation. The participating organisation is solely liable for the legal liability involved.
- The Organiser is not liable for any costs, expenses or losses incurred by the participating organisation in connection with any action taken or decision made by the participating organisation in relation to its participation in the Awards.
- All application forms and supporting documents submitted by the participating organisation will not be returned, regardless of whether the organisation is awarded or not.
- The decision of the Organiser will be final and the participating organisation cannot dispute or object to the decision.
- All awards are not transferable and not redeemable for cash or in any other forms.
- By submitting the application form, the participating organisation fully agrees to the terms and conditions of the Awards. The Organiser reserves the right to forthwith disqualify the participating organisation if it violates any terms and conditions or other legal requirements.
- The Organiser reserves the right to interpret the terms and conditions of the Awards.
- The Organiser reserves the right to change or amend the terms and contents of the Awards without prior notice.
- In case of any dispute, the determination of the Organiser shall be final.
- The Organiser of the Awards is "Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong" (PCPD).
- The adjudication and results of the Awards shall in no way affect the functions and powers conferred upon the Privacy Commissioner under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, nor constitute any endorsement, consent, approval or waiver of the statutory duties, rights and obligations of the awardees under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
- The personal data provided by the participating organisation will only be used for purposes directly related to the 2nd “Privacy-Friendly Awards 2023”. The PCPD will erase the personal data after the aforesaid purposes have been fulfilled and no later than 30 June 2024. The data subject has the right to request access to or correction of personal data held by the PCPD. If the participating organisation would like to make a data access request, please complete the Data Access Request Form (OPS003), and then send the request to Data Protection Officer of the PCPD by fax (2877 7026), by email (communications@pcpd.org.hk), in person or by post (Unit 1303, 13/F, Dah Sing Financial Centre, 248 Queen's Road East, Wanchai, Hong Kong).
