The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) received a delegation of Mainland legal officials on 9 September. The delegation comprised 14 officials from six Departments/Bureaux of Justice from the Mainland, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, and the Legal Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR Government.
PCPD’s representatives Ms Amy LAM, Deputy Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Ms Hermina NG, Senior Legal Counsel (Complaints), Ms Phoebe CHOW, Head of Corporate Communications and Mr John LO, Senior Personal Data Officer (Compliance and Enquiries) delivered a presentation to the delegation. The presentation covered Hong Kong’s personal data protection law, an overview of the PCPD’s role and functions, as well as how the PCPD handles complaints, combats doxxing and promotes the protection of personal data privacy.
