Telling a Good Hong Kong Story– Privacy Commissioner Speaks at Gathering of AmCham HK

The Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (Privacy Commissioner), Ms Ada CHUNG Lai-ling, gave a presentation at a briefing to the members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (AmCham HK) on 21 March 2024. The Privacy Commissioner explained the six Data Protection Principles under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO) and pointed out that they reflected international standards.
 
The Privacy Commissioner also discussed the significant impacts of data breaches to businesses and introduced the PCPD’s resources for businesses to enhance their data security, such as the guidance materials on data breach handling and the adoption of Personal Data Privacy Management Programme, as well as the self-assessment toolkit “Data Security Scanner”.
