Reaching Out to the Community – Privacy Commissioner Interviewed by RTHK Radio 1’s “Open Line Open View”

The Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (Privacy Commissioner), Ms Ada CHUNG Lai-ling, was interviewed by RTHK Radio 1’s “Open Line Open View” on 25 January to provide tips on personal data privacy protection arising from the recent reports on global data breach incidents involving various social media and online platforms.

The Privacy Commissioner recommended users of the relevant platforms to activate the multi-factor authentication function, and to stay vigilant when they receive any suspicious calls, text messages or emails from unknown sources. To avoid hackers making use of the leaked data to perpetuate frauds, she reminded users not to use the same password on different online platforms.

In addition, the Privacy Commissioner also reminded parents to seek their children’s views before publishing any post about their children online. Over-sharing children’s daily lives online may affect their future education or even work prospects.
