Understanding the Mainland Laws – Privacy Commissioner’s Office organises Experience Sharing Session on “Using Standard Contracts for Transferring Personal Information Out of the Mainland”

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data organised an Experience Sharing Session entitled “Using Standard Contracts for Transferring Personal Information Out of the Mainland” on 24 October, which attracted more than 110 participants from various sectors, including banking, insurance, government/ public bodies, legal and information technology.
 
At the Sharing Session, the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (Privacy Commissioner), Ms Ada CHUNG Lai-ling, highlighted the requirements and key points of the Mainland’s “Standard Contract for Cross-border Transfers of Personal Information” and “Measures on the Standard Contract for Cross-border Transfers of Personal Information”.
 
In addition, Mr Samuel Ho, Chief Executive Officer of Nova Credit Limited was invited as the guest speaker to share with participants the practical experience of Nova Credit's related company in pursuing cross-border transfers of personal information out of the Mainland through the execution of standard contracts, including the points to note when going through the approval process.
