Reaching out to University – “Personal Data Protection and Information Security Awareness Week 2021” of The University of Hong Kong

The Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (Privacy Commissioner), Ms Ada CHUNG Lai-ling, spoke today (3 November) at the seminar on “Personal Data Protection and Internet Security”, an event for the “Personal Data Protection and Information Security Awareness Week 2021” organised by The University of Hong Kong (HKU).

In the seminar, the Privacy Commissioner gave an overview of the six Data Protection Principles under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, explained the requirements under the Personal Data (Privacy) (Amendment) Ordinance 2021, which has recently come into effect to combat doxxing acts, and introduced the Personal Information Protection Law of the Mainland to HKU staff and students.
