Special Work Arrangements 3-9 Feb 2020 (updated)


To continue to help reduce the risk of the novel coronavirus’s spread in the community, the office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong has the following updated special work arrangements to make during the period from 3 February to 9 February 2020 (inclusive):
 
  • All counter services (including enquiries, complaints, receipts and dispatches, and meetings with members of the public) will continue to be suspended generally;
  • Exceptions will be made for exceptional and urgent matters, in which cases prior appointments for counter services should be made through telephone (2827 2827), fax (2877 7026) or email (enquiry@pcpd.org.hk, complaints@pcpd.org.hk );
  • Whilst employees continue to be advised to work at home, an adequate number of staff will work in office for the provision of basic services*, all e-services remaining operative;
  • Allowance and tolerance are requested in circumstances where these basic services may only be provided in a limited way;
  • Members of the public may continue to contact the office for enquiries and complaints through the usual telephone and hotline voice message or online services (contact details as above) ; and
  • The special work arrangements will be reviewed before 9 February 2020 when they end as scheduled.
* Basic services include attending in real time to general and media enquiries, lodging of complaints and data breach notifications, as well as matters relating to checks, investigations and court proceedings through paper, telephone and other electronic means.
