Suspected Data Breach of a Hong Kong VPN Company
In response to recent media reports on a suspected data breach involving a large amount of users’ data by a Hong Kong developer operating seven virtual private network (VPN) companies, the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong, Mr Stephen Kai-yi WONG expressed concern about the incident and would contact the developer concerned. A compliance check would also be initiated in accordance with established procedures to find out the relevant facts.
