Enquiry relating to Code of Practice on Consumer Credit Data

Q: I have applied for personal loan from a bank, how do I know the name of the credit reference agency ("CRA") to whom the bank had provided my credit data? How can I obtain a copy of my credit report and assess the correctness of my account information contained in the credit report?

A: According to Clause 2.13 of the Code, where a bank has obtained and considered the credit report on an applicant, when the bank notifies the applicant of its decision on the application, it shall also inform the applicant that a credit report of him has been obtained and considered. The bank shall also advise the applicant as to how to contact the CRA for accessing and correcting his information contained in the credit report.
