APEC Cross-border Privacy Enforcement Arrangement (CPEA)
The Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CPEA creates a framework for regional cooperation in the enforcement of privacy laws. The PCPD has joined the CPEA since 2010. It aims to:

facilitate information sharing among privacy enforcement authorities in APEC economies;
-
provide mechanisms to promote effective cross-border cooperation among authorities in the enforcement of privacy laws; and
-
encourage information sharing and cooperation on privacy investigation and enforcement with privacy enforcement authorities outside APEC.

APEC Digital Economy Steering Group (DESG) Data Privacy Subgroup
The DESG aims to facilitate the development of the internet and digital economy, including e-commerce and digital trade, by creating legal, regulatory and policy environments in the APEC region that are predictable, transparent and consistent.
The PCPD participates in the Data Privacy Subgroup under the DESG. The Subgroup aims to analyse and identify best practices in promoting the cross-border flow of information.

Asia Pacific Privacy Authorities (APPA)
APPA, formed in 1992, is the principal forum for privacy and data protection authorities in the Asia Pacific Region to form partnerships and exchange ideas about privacy regulation, new technologies and the management of privacy enquiries and complaints. The PCPD has been a member of APPA since 2005. <more about APPA>

Forum
APPA members convene twice a year, discussing permanent agenda items such as jurisdictional reports from each member and an initiative-sharing roundtable. Topical issues canvassed by forums include privacy and security, cross-jurisdictional law enforcement in the Asia Pacific and privacy legislation amendments. <more about APPA Forum>

Privacy awareness week (PAW)
PAW is held every year to promote and raise awareness for numerous privacy issues and the importance of protecting personal information. The Global Privacy Enforcement Network (GPEN)
GPEN was established in 2010 to foster cross-border cooperation among privacy enforcement authorities. The PCPD has been a GPEN member since 2014 and is currently a member of the GPEN Committee. GPEN primarily seeks to promote cooperation by:

exchanging information about relevant issues, trends and experiences;

encouraging training opportunities and sharing of enforcement know-how, expertise and good practice;

promoting dialogue with organisations having a role in privacy enforcement; and
-
creating, maintaining and supporting processes or mechanisms useful to bilateral or multilateral cooperation.

Global Privacy Assembly (GPA)
Formerly known as International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners (ICDPPC) and inaugurated in 1979, GPA is the premier global forum for data protection and privacy authorities. It has a representation of over 130 data protection and privacy authorities, non-governmental organisations and observers from countries and international bodies around the world. GPA Global Cross Border Enforcement Cooperation Arrangement
The PCPD became a participant of the Global Cross Border Enforcement Cooperation Arrangement (“Arrangement”) in November 2015. <click here to view other participants>
The purpose of this Arrangement is to foster data protection compliance by organisations processing personal data across borders. It encourages and facilitates cooperation amongst privacy enforcement authorities by sharing information, particularly confidential enforcement-related information about potential or on-going investigations, and where appropriate, the Arrangement also coordinates enforcement activities of privacy enforcement authorities to ensure that their scarce resources can be used as efficiently and effectively as possible. <more about the Arrangement>
